COCONUT FATTY ACID
Coconut Fatty Acid
INCI NAME: Coconut Acid
CHEMICAL NAME:
Coconut Oil Fatty Acids or Palm Kernel Oil Fatty Acids
CAS#:
61788-47-4; 67701-05-7; 101403-98-9
Synonyms: Coco fatty acid, Coconut acid, Coconut fatty acids, Coconut oil acids, Coconut oil fatty acids, Fatty acids, coco
Coconut Fatty Acid is obtained by splitting and the subsequent vacuum distillation of coconut oil.
The product obtained has a melting point above 25 º C.
Coconut Fatty Acid is solid at room temperature, opaque white, and with a pungent smell.
Coconut Fatty Acid contains a high % of C12 and C14 fatty acids.
Coconut Fatty acids are used among other applications: Amines, betaines, esters, fatty alcohols, detergents, cosmetics and personal care, soaps and liquid, textile finishing, leather finishing, finishing fibers, coatings, resins, and surfactants.
Coconut Fatty Acid is a main renewable ingredient for production of soap.
Its applications include toiletries, transparent soaps, and other cosmetic care products.
Coconut Fatty Acid is used in the production of fatty acid alkanolamides, imidazolines, esters, fatty amines, and anionic specialty surfactants (e.g., acyl isethionates, acyl sarcosinates, and acyl taurates).
Coconut Fatty Acid is used in soaps, bath products, and household and industrial cleaning products as a surfactant, cleansing agent, emulsifier, and foam booster.
Its high Lauric content makes an excellent lathering and conditioning bath soap.
Coconut fatty acid and its esters are also used to manufacture intermediates for the textile industry, such as lubricants and metal working fluids.
Uses & Applications of Coconut Fatty Acid:
CASE: Used as a Solvent to Dissolve Adhesives
Cleaners and Detergents: Acts as a Surfactant, Cleansing Agent, Emulsifier, Foam Booster and Degreaser
